Speaker:  Greg Wolff, Senior Archaeologist and Archaeology Program Manager at Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)


Abstract: Wolff’s presentation will focus on two recent archaeological data recovery projects conducted by CDOT on the Front Range and along the Continental Divide. These projects highlight two Precontact archaeological sites in Summit and Clear Creek Counties that provide significant contributions to our understanding of high-altitude archaeology in Colorado.

 

Bio:  Greg Wolff has been an archaeologist with the Colorado Department of Transportation since 2008 and is the Senior Archaeologist and Archaeology Program Manager at CDOT. He has a wide variety of archaeological experience in the public and private sectors since the early 1990s, across the Rocky Mountain West, the Midwestern and Southern US, Belize, and Guatemala. He has expertise in coordinating intergovernmental, tribal, and public consultation within the frameworks of the National Historic Preservation Act (Section 106) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
