PAAC Credit

We're excited to announce an upcoming PAAC Class!:

Historical Archaeology Workshop (4 credit hours)

The Program for Avocational Archaeological Certification (PAAC) is offering a two-day Historical Archaeology Workshop.

Gain valuable insights into the field of historical archaeology during this weekend workshop taught by a leading expert, Colorado State Archaeologist Dr. Holly K. Norton. On Day 1, participants will be introduced to historical archaeology, a brief history of the subfield, and the identification and analysis of major artifact types such as ceramics and glass. On Day 2, participants will gain hands-on experience interacting with historical artifacts, applying what was learned on Day 1 through a case study of El Pueblo/Fariss Hotel site.

This two-day workshop is ideal for history and archaeology enthusiasts, students and lifelong learners in the field, and anyone with a passion for the past. No prior experience is required. Participants are encouraged to attend both days of the workshop. If you can attend only one day, Day 1 is recommended.

The cost to attend this workshop is $15.00 per day ($30.00 total for the whole workshop). This workshop is being offered in-person only. Please note that this workshop will be filmed by Truce Media. If you do not wish to be included in the filming, please contact us in advance at hc_publicarchaeology@state.co.us .
