PAAC 2-DAY NATIONAL AND STATE REGISTER NOMINATION WORKSHOP
(4 Credit Hours)

The Office of the State Archaeologist is pleased to announce a two-day professional development workshop focused on the preparation of nominations for the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties and the National Register of Historic Places led by State and National Register Coordinator Eric Newcombe. This workshop will provide participants with a thorough understanding of the nomination process, including eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and submission procedures. Day one will consist of a detailed presentation and discussion of the State and National Registers.

Day one will be an interactive lecture. Day one may be attended in-person at History Colorado Center in Denver or online via Zoom. Day one can be attended even if you are not able to attend Day two.

Day two will feature a hands-on workshop offering individualized guidance on nomination preparation. Day two may be attended only in-person. You are requested to attend Day one to attend Day two.

This workshop is open to individuals at all levels of experience, from those who are simply interested in learning more about the process to those actively engaged in preparing a nomination. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to participate in both days. PAAC participants will receive 2 credit hours for each day of participation, for a total of 4 credit hours toward their PAAC certification.

Program for Avocational Archaeological Certification (PAAC)
The Program for Avocational Archaeological Certification (PAAC) is an educational program for avocational and professional archaeologists. Operated by the Office of the State Archaeologist of Colorado (OSAC), it allows CAS-Denver members and other citizens to obtain formally recognized levels of expertise outside of an academic degree program.
