Monday, February 10, 2025 General Meeting

Speakers: Deb Huntley, PhD, Maddi Pfeifer, BA, Ali Schubert, MGsc, and Alex Smith, BA.

Abstract: Come learn about what an Archaeology career looks like in Cultural Resource Management! Supported by a variety of legislature at the federal and state level, Cultural Resource Management (or CRM) is a subset of archaeology dedicated to the practical protection and management of historic and cultural resources. As civilization expands the development of new infrastructure is needed to support our growth. Development projects often present an unintentional threat to many of our historic and cultural resources. CRM aims to ensure that these resources are protected while at the same time implementing creative solutions which allow for development to progress. Join four cultural resource archaeologists from Tetra Tech, Inc. to learn how and why they do CRM fieldwork. The presentation will include an extra hour of show and tell highlighting what equipment is needed to properly record an archaeological site.  Note:  It is highly recommended that you attend in person to receive the full benefit of this presentation.
